X Cicle de música del segle XX. Música al Nick Havanna.

Since the beginning, our character was that Neruda’s “Knight alone”, who felt spend time and the beings almost as “domestic animals”, rather more patient subject than “voyeur” of his evolutions. Progressively that has been modulated on two subjects that interest us at very different levels: first, the considerations of the philosopher Michel Foucault on the heterotopys, those spaces others or counterspaces that fenced and define our existence; Second, the reality of the phenomena of emigration in today’s Europe.

Those topics are linked by the work of a name (Nick) and a place (La Havana). Since then, Nick can be both “the man who never was” as an anonymous emigrant, while the reference to the Cuban capital is only the allusion to one of the latest socio-political heterotopias that bad that well, remain standing on. That is to say, our Nick perhaps exist but La Havana is no longer what it was.

Desde el principio, nuestro personaje era ese “caballero solo” de Neruda, que sentía pasar el tiempo y los seres casi como “animales domésticos”, más bien sujeto paciente que “voyeur” de sus evoluciones. Progresívamente eso se ha modulado con dos temas que nos interesan a muy distinto nivel: en primer lugar, las consideraciones del filósofo Michel Foucault sobre las heterotopías, esos espacios “otros” o contraespacios que acotan y definen nuestra existencia; en segundo, la realidad de los fenómenos de emigración en la Europa actual.

Esos temas se enlazan por obra de un nombre (Nick) y un lugar (La Habana). Desde luego, Nick puede ser tanto “el hombre que nunca existió” como un anónimo emigrante, mientras que la referencia a la capital cubana es aquí solo la alusión a una de las últimas heterotopías político-sociales que, mal que bien, se mantienen en pie. Es decir, nuestro Nick quizá exista pero La Habana ya no es lo que era.
